Earlier this week, the BSC for NCAA football had meeting about creating a playoff for the current bowl system. Right now, they select teams from each conference and have a certain amount of bowls. Many say this is unfair. They are considering doing something like the NCAA March Madness tournament, with teams in a bracket.

I think a playoff would be a great idea. The bowls are decided unfairly sometimes, but there is a study or something along that nature that shows TV programs would make $1 billion off of a BSC playoff. This year, I believe they did the right thing for the BSC National Title game, picking the top two teams to play in the game. It ended up being a one sided game, but still, it was a great game to watch. A BSC playoff would be the right decision.
I agree with you there Matt. The whole country would love to see a playoff system. It would make everything much more exciting. Although in this past championship I think it would have been better to see LSU and Oklahoma St. play. As would most people. BCS playoffs would get a lot more people interested in College football too.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great decision but i do not think they should get rid of bowl games. Bowl games should just be a lower stndard and the playoffs be the prestige level teams.
