Well, earlier this week, Obama said that he has changed his mind about gay marriage, and now says that he supports it. He used to believe that it should stay man and women, but in an interview, I guess his mind just happened to change. There isn't too much to add to what it was about.

So, does anyone else find it very wierd that he all of a suddden changed his mind on same-sex marriage a few months before the elections? (sarcasm). I don't have anything against gay marriage or gay people, but there are some people who support gay marriage waaaaaay too much, like WAY to much. Go ahead and support your beliefs. But back to Obama and his beliefs. I believe, like many others, this is just a move to get all the people who support same-sex marriage to vote for him. It's just a bit unusual that he all of a sudden changes his mind. It just upsets me he is saying this to get votes. He just needs to state what he believes in. I just feel bad for all the poeple who like Obama now just because he said that. But again, I believe he said it just for the votes. I just feel like Obama shouldn't be president again. He isn't basing his campaign on the economy because look what happened to it during his term. He is just basing it off of killing bin Laden, and now he supports gay marriage. Let's just get this country in line and on a good path economic wise and then deal with everything else.

Week 16, Derrick Rose

This past weekend, the NBA playoffs were underway. In game 1 of the Bulls vs 76ers. The game was fairly close all the way to the end. With about 1:10 to go in the game, the Bulls were up by 12, but the 76ers were on a roll. As point guard for Chicago, Derrick Rose, driving down the lane. He jump stopped, and his knee bent in just a bit, tearing his ACL and putting him out for the rest of the season. Now why many take hits at Chicago's coach for keeping Rose in the game is for having Derrick Rose in that late. It was a smart decision to keep him in. The 76ers were starting a small roll, and the score was slowly decreasing for Chicago. Andre Iguadala, a guard for the 76ers said  "It's the playoffs. Some things happen at times. You can't fault a guy being in." He wasn't suprised Rose was still in the game. The criticts were taking huge shots at Tom Thibodeau for keeping Rose in. It is just a freak injury that can happen at any time. You can't control when it does and doesn't happen. It just happens. Rose should have stayed in the game untill the end to seal the victory for the Bulls (which they did win the game). It is a freak injury you can't really prevent, and the 76ers were on a roll. It was a smart decision to keep him in that late in the game.

BSC Playoff

Earlier this week, the BSC for NCAA football had meeting about creating a playoff for the current bowl system. Right now, they select teams from each conference and have a certain amount of bowls. Many say this is unfair. They are considering doing something like the NCAA March Madness tournament, with teams in a bracket.

I think a playoff would be a great idea. The bowls are decided unfairly sometimes, but there is a study or something along that nature that shows TV programs would make $1 billion off of a BSC playoff. This year, I believe they did the right thing for the BSC National Title game, picking the top two teams to play in the game. It ended up being a one sided game, but still, it was a great game to watch. A BSC playoff would be the right decision.

Andrew Luck

Earlier today it was announced that the Colts will draft Andrew Luck from Stanford for the first pick of the NFL draft. ESPN had said the Colts have had a decision for a few weeks now but today, Indianapolis notified Andrew Luck of the decision. I think this is a good decision by the Colts to draft Andrew Luck. He may not have as much talent as RG3, but I feel like Luck is better at the talents him and RG3 have in common and also has a better QB mind. I feel like RG3 would be a good decision for the Colts, but not for a long term situation. I think RG3 is going to be like Donavan McNabb type QB, good in his first few seasons, but slowly loses his talents. I believe Luck will be a good long-term QB, like a Big Ben or even a Peyton Manning type QB.

Week 12

This week, Arkansas Razorbacks football coach, Bobby Petrino, was fired. A few weeks ago, he had crashed a motorcycle and suffered some injuries, and he also said he was the only one to crash. A few days later, we come to find out that there was also a young 20's woman who was on with him. He basically hired her himself as a "secretary."

Some are saying the firing was a bit too harsh, but how can you trust someone after they never told you about hiring someone and when they get into a crash, they lie about how many people were involved. Petrino must be so stupid. He might have gotten fired even if he didn't lie, but it wouldn't be as bad as it has been. And to top it off, he barley sends Akansas University an apology. He sent them a text message, that means nothing! At least be a man and say it face to face.

Week 11

This week North Korea basically ended the plan with the US and has started up their nuke program again. We traded them food for the end of their nuke program earlier in the year. Sunday, they released pictures and videos of their launch pad.

I don't know exactly what we did for North Korea to end the plan so fast, but we need stop North Korea's nuke program. Though they are making their selfs look stupid and just asking for war, we need to stop their program somehow. We cannot get into a war with them, and need to make sure their program ends.

Week 10

Dwight Howard earlier this week decided to stay with the Orlando Magic for the rest of the season. He was wanting to be traded and wanted out of Orlando, but changed his mind, for now, and wait to move at the end of the season.

I think Dwight Howard made a great decision. He has a nice chance of going decently far in the playoffs. Also, the New Jersey Nets, who Howard is most likely to go to before next season, are moving to Brooklyn. This offers Howard a great way to get some money and the Nets are also a growing franchise.

Week 9

Earlier this week, the Colts released Peyton Manning. They announced Wednesday that he was going to belong to the Indianapolis Colts anymore. Jim Irsay, the owner of the Colts, said they are trying to rebuild. Peyton Manning, obviously, was very saddened to leave the city.

I thought the release of Peyton Manning was stupid. Andrew Luck said he wouldn't mind being a backup of Peyton. I think that Peyton has about 4 years left in the tank. The Colts should have kept him for at least 1 more season to see what he looked like. But anyways, I wasn't shocked. It was bound to happen. I think we all should give Andrew Luck a chance and see what he can do.

Week 17

When I was looking at the articles in the "Upfront" magazine we received Thursday, one of the first you will see "advertised" is an article about sagging. I looked at all of them and decided I want to do that one. It is about how high school teen boys "sag." Sagging is when a male, maybe in some cases female, lower the pants way below the waist and show their underwear. It is a new trend among many teens. The article is about if the style of fashion should be outlawed by the government. It is already outlawed in Florida and Arkansas schools. I believe it should be outlawed.

I believe that government can't outlaw sagging, but it should end for sure. It is just showing that you are basically trash when you are sagging. I do not understand people that do sag, why do they do it? Though we go to a private school and have to wear uniforms, there is still sagging happening at our school. It would be a very difficult process to basically ban sagging, but like I said earlier, it should end. They also said in the article that when you don't sag, it makes you look more professional, which is a very obvious observation. There are many reasons why people do not want to see another person sagging. No one wants to see what type of underwear you are wearing, it makes you look like trash, and it is just ugly. It is not the right type of fashion you want. I believe the government should at least attempt to pass a law for high school students to not sag in all states. If you think about it, the government is helping you. You won't look like an idiot to other people.

Week 16

This news could be a little old, but since USC was banned from a bowl game, talk about Matt Barkley making a decision about gooing to the NFL or staying his senior year has been heating up. If you don't know, Matt Barkley has been the starting quarterback at University of Souther Cal for the past 3 years. If he decides to go into the draft, he is projected by Mel Kiper to be the 3rd overall draft pick. He recently filed paperwork for the NFL. That does NOT mean he decided to go into the draft. If I was Matt Barkley, I would stay at USC for my senior year. Though USC won't be able to go to a bowl game next year either, he could still contend for the Heisman Trophy, just like he is this year, and also contend to be the 1st overall pick in the NFL draft. Though he is competing for the Heisman Trophy this year, my gut feeling is that Andrew Luck will win the Heisman this year and end up being the 1st pick of the draft. If Barkley stays, he most likely will be a top conteder for both the Heisman and 1st pick of the draft. He shouldn't worry about getting injured, too. Sam Bradford was injured his last year of college football and ended up being drafted #1 overall in the 2010 draft. Though I do not like USC, Barkley should forgo the draft and come back for his senior year.

Week 15

It was reported that Urban Meyer has been talking about taking the head coaching job at Ohio State. He was previously the head coach at Florida and left due to health related issues. He too awhile off and now is reportidly talking with Ohio State. Rumor has it that talks are getting serioius and are most likely true. I think if Urban took this job, Ohio State would just dominate the Big Ten Conference. So many recruits would want to go play for Urban Meyer and at a big name school like Ohio State. He is a great coach, and a clean coach too. He has never cheated in recruiting, even when Lane Kiffin, being an idiot as he is, tried to say that he was a cheater. The NCAA said it was not cheating and Kiffin eventually apoligized, which he should have never said anything so stupid. But going back to the topic, he would get so many big recruits and dominate the Big Ten. The only competition they would have is Wisconsin, which is starting to have a great football program. Michigan could possibly be a challenge, but they are slowly degrading in their talent. I believe Ohio State should hire Urban Meyer. It would be a good thing for Ohio State, the Big Ten, and the NCAA to have this type of coach back.

WEEK 14 (ROUND 4, 1)

Thursday in class, we had news that there was a a case of a 14 year old girl in Washington Court House, Ohio was bullied by her teachers. Her parents bugged her with a tape recorder and had evidence that she was being harrassed and bullied by two teacher. Basically, the teacher kept calling her dumb, lazy, stupid, a liar, and a cheater. There is a part in the video when the teacher doesn't even take her test, saying that she knows she already failed. Also, she answered a question wrong and was forced to run on a tredmill.

According to the news, one teacher was put on un-paid lead until the end of the year and the other was asked to resign. I believe this is ludacris! The teachers should be fired immedietley. What more evidence does one need? There is voice recordings of the teachers harrassing and bullying her. They didn't grade her test, they called her lazy, stupid and dumb. Also, they made her run on a treadmill when she got an answer wrong! That is ridiculous! These teachers should be fired right away. We also had news Thursday that a similar case happened in New Jersey, and that teacher was put on paid leave. How could you put a teacher on paid leave when there is video evidence of the teacher threatening, bullying, and harassing the students. I believe that schools should somehow should find out about these things happening and have a no tolerence ruls and fire the teacher immedietley. This is ridiculous.

WEEK 13 (Round 3)

Earlier this week, Penn State fire head coach Joe Paterno due to a sex scandal that happened approximetley throughout the years 1997-2002 involving 8 male minorities ranging from ages aprroximetley 7 to 15. The man accused of the crimes is Penn State's ex-deffensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. I took the time to read the 23 page Grand Jury describtion which is very disturbing. This incident is a very disturbing case. The 8 young boys that were harrased, mollested, and raped must have gone through way too much since it started and also now that everything is being released. There are disturbing cases in which Sandusky, on multiple occasions, took a boy into the Penn State football locker room showers after working out and would pressure them into showering closer to him. As you would think, there was sexual contact in the showers very often. I will not describe what all he did in the showers but he was caught red-handed one time and other times there was suspisious acting. I just find it very odd that the boys who were involved in this case and did have parents, that their parents allowed them to hang out with Sandusky when they barely know him. With one victim, his mother did find out about what Sandusky had done with her son and was very aggrivated. Other victims would just tell their parents to not answer his calls and what not. Sandusky would invite them to games, practices, work out with them, and even invite them to sleep over at his house. It seems as almost every victim slept at Sandusky's house which would lead to Sandusky coming down and trying to give a massage to the boy and which he would try to lead it on. Also, it seems as almost every victim rode in the car with Sandusky and he put his hand on their leg and he tried to move it up into the male area. This is just a very, very disturbing case.

WEEK 12

As we watched "What Would You Do?" we saw a skit with an actor stealing from another actors gas pump. The actor who was getting the gas stolen from went inside and the person stealing took  their pump and pumped gas into their car. This is apperently happens often. I have never heard of it happeneing, but after I watched it, it seemed like something that could happen all the  time. It does not seem that hard to pull off. This way to steal gas is a very clever way. As I said above, I have never heard of this way to steal gas untill we watched the skit. There is videos and articles all over the internet on how to steal gas. We all know that gas prices are deffinetly not at a good price, so obviously there are people who are going to try and steal because they can not afford paying for gas as much as they go to the gas station. I would never steal gas, but this was a very clever way to steal gas.

Round 3 Week 2

As "Occupy Wall Street" seems to have just reached its peak, more people were arrested in Texas and Oregon. It has now traveled across the world and is not only effecting the US economy. I agree with the act. I believe that the protestors are doing the right thing. Our economy is slowly getting out of hand. We need to do something about it. We have been waiting for something to happen since Obama was elected President. He said he would change the country in a positive way. Obviously, the economy is getting worse and worse almost everyday. It is about time people are taking charge and trying to change the economy.

It was reported that Gaddahfi was killed the other day. There is a video that is out and is posted. It is very graphic and harsh acts done by the rebels. He was found in a sewer in his home town and paraded around town and killed. Watching the video somewhere on the internet will help you understand what I am saying. Some people have a problem about how harshly he was killed. I believe that the acts done by the rebels was not harsh at all. It was the right moves made by the rebels. Gaddahfi had it coming. He killed many people of his own country and was a dictator for too long. Though this may sound horrible, I personally like how they killed him with his own gun. It was clever how they took his shoes and hit him in the face and killed him with his own gun. Clever acts made by the rebels.
